Smart turnout
An Edwardian woman poses for a studio photograph with a smart bicycle. She has dressed smartly for the occasion and the bike is well turned out. Despite this it looks as if the photographer has made no effort to match her turnout with the quality of the backdrop!
Note the oil fuelled front light, the skirt guard on the back wheel and the smart white tyres. The chain is protected with an oil bath guard and there is a small leather tool kit to the rear of the seat.
